Do I need planning permission to have solar panels installed?

No, you don't usually need planning permission for solar panel installation. The exception to that is if your house is listed or located in a conservation area. If your system requires a 5kWh inverter (typically for installations with 12 panels or more), we’ll need to contact your distribution network operator (DNO) for approval. This usually takes a couple of weeks, but we’ll handle the entire process for you.
