What do I need to do when my IHD arrives?

Please find somewhere to plug it in that’s close to your electricity meter (ideally no more than 5 metres). They need to be as close as possible so we can get the IHD talking to your meter.

Once plugged it in, it should power up immediately (it won’t show what you’re using right away, there’s still a bit of work we need to do to make that happen but it won’t take long).

Now you can sit back and leave the rest to us! We’ll do some work behind the scenes to get your in-home display talking to your smart meter so you can track what exactly how much energy you’re using - this bit shouldn’t take more than a few days (but give us a few extra days if it's just been a weekend or bank holiday).
