What is People Power?

We want to do good not only for the planet, but for the amazing communities within it. People Power will connect with charities, sports clubs, or any other local initiative to help raise money for a certain something that can further their mission.

How does it work?

For every person who signs up to Octopus Energy through your community's unique link, we will donate £50 towards your organisation, and better yet they'll also get £50 on their new Octopus Energy account! Our dedicated People Power team will be on hand from start to finish to achieve your chosen goal.

What has People Power done before?

People Power started as a tiny test in Brighton to see how we could reach out and support local causes. Soon enough we had communities hitting their fundraising goals and some amazing stories to tell. Because of that success, we are now able to reach out to communities around the country.

Together Co

This was the first People Power project to hit its goal! Together Co is a befriending and social prescribing charity. Together we raised £600 that will be used for six befriending groups across the city for people who struggle to leave the house.

Rise

An independent charity that helps people affected by domestic abuse. With Rise, we raised £500 for their refuge and care services, after they lost funding from the council.

Sussex Dolphin Project

The project aims to inspire the local community to reconnect with the coast and protect our seas. The goal we hit for the Sussex Dolphin Project was £500 to build a Butterfly Bank in their Restoration and Rewilding Project area at Shoreham Port.
