Rebecca Dibb-Simkin

Chief Marketing Officer

Rebecca Dibb-Simkin is the chief product & marketing officer at Octopus Energy Group, where she operates on a defining philosophy: product and marketing should never be separate.

She joined the company as employee #43 in 2016, working in a ramshackle Soho office when Octopus was just a startup. A decade later, she has helped to scale it into a global giant active in 32 countries (and counting). Her role bridges the physical and the emotional: she leads the teams creating proprietary hardware — like the adorable Octopus Home Mini — while simultaneously orchestrating a brand voice that inspires loyalty in a sector known for indifference.

Before Octopus, Rebecca cut her teeth in the “big energy” world at British Gas. There, she discovered her niche at the intersection of hardware and user experience, leading the product team that took Hive from a scrappy internal startup to the UK’s leading smart home provider.

She is so committed to the mission that she even has an octopus tattoo — proving that for Rebecca, making energy "delightful" isn't just a job: it's permanent.
