Have a SecureTM smart meter
You will need to have a SMETS2 smart meter or a SecureTM branded SMETS1 meter that we can receive half-hourly consumption data from.
If you don't already have one of these smart meters we'll automatically arrange a SecureTM smart meter installation at no extra charge.
If you're not sure whether your SMETS1 is from SecureTM, it should be written on the front of your smart meter.
Once we've received half-hourly readings from your smart meter, which takes up to 14 days, we'll send you an email inviting you to complete your switch to Octopus Go.
With a smart charger or Ohme smart cable, plug in your car before bed and your charger will only start to charge when the cheap 5p price kicks in.
Octopus Go is a product of our labs, available now to customers through our beta programme.
You'll need a SMETS2 smart meter, or a “Secure” branded SMETS1 meter, that we can receive half-hourly consumption data from.
Don't have a suitable smart meter?
Start your switch below to register your interest for a smart meter. The smart meter installation comes at no extra cost.
Due to Covid-19 and in line with the government's advice, we are ramping up installations slowly over the next few weeks as we bring in new steps to keep our engineers and our customers safe. For full details of the steps we're taking to prevent the spread of the virus, head to our Covid-19 policy.
Once you've registered your interest, our team will be in contact when we have an appointment in your area, We'll be moving with a lot of caution over the next few weeks to make sure we do this right, so we just ask that you keep bearing with us a bit. It'll take us a little while longer to get fully back up to speed.
Octopus Go is a beta product. If you're OK that some things may not work first time, that installations and processes may take longer than we'd like, and that on occasion data issues with smart meters can take significant time to fix or prevent things working at all, but that you'd like to work with us to make world-changing energy tariffs a reality, check this box so we know you're onboard. You will always be able to switch to one of our fairly priced standard tariffs at any time.

Octopus Go is a cutting edge innovation created by Octopus's unique technology. Unlike products available from other companies, it relies on a smart meter system (which as our Founder Greg explains here, is not always fully reliable). Some customers have experienced delays. However, of the thousands of customers on these smart tariffs, the vast majority are now experiencing smooth service.
