Terms & Conditions: Eclipse Special Saving Session
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions apply to the Eclipse Special Saving Session (the “Session”), operated by Octopus Energy Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”). By participating, you agree to these Session rules in addition to the Saving Sessions Terms and Conditions and your standard electricity supply agreement.
2. Eligibility & Deadline
To be eligible for the Session, you must:
Comply with all eligibility requirements in the Saving Sessions Terms and Conditions; and
Opt in to the Session before 6pm on Wednesday, 12 August 2026. Late opt-ins will not qualify.
3. Event Structure:
Power Down Window means the period between 6pm to 8pm (BST) on Wednesday 12 August 2026.
To qualify for the Free Energy Hour reward (the “Reward”), you must successfully reduce your electricity consumption below your calculated Baseline in at least one half-hour (HH) period during the Power Down Window.
Free Electricity Hour Reward: If you meet the full Power Down criteria set out above, you will earn one hour of free electricity during [a designated 1 hour window] on Sunday, 16th August 2026. Electricity consumed during this specific hour will be credited back to your account based on your import tariff rate and your imported electricity amount (kWh) in each half-hour of the free hour.
We will notify you about whether you’ve successfully qualified for the Free Electricity Hour reward no later than midday Saturday 15th August, and confirm the designated 1 hour window.
4. Usage Limits, Caps, and Export
16kWh Fair Use Cap: Credited electricity during the free hour is capped at a maximum of 16kWh. Any consumption exceeding 16kWh during the free hour will not be credited to your energy account.
Export Excluded: Exported electricity (e.g., from solar generation or home battery discharge) is not measured, credited, or altered by this Session. Standard export tariff agreements remain separate and unchanged.
Gas Consumption and Standing Charges: charges for gas consumed during the Free Electricity Hour and standing charges altered by the Free Electricity Hour.
5. Baselines, Data & Crediting
Baseline means your standard historical half-hourly consumption during equivalent time windows over recent non-event days.
Bill credits for the Free Energy Hour will be applied to your energy account balance within 14 business days.
If smart meter data is missing or unreadable for any half-hour period during the Power Down Window, we reserve the right to withhold eligibility to the Free Electricity Hour.
6. Safe Usage & Administration
You remain responsible for using electrical appliances safely during the Free Electricity Hour (e.g., avoiding circuit breaker or extension lead overloads).
We reserve the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the Session at any time.
