Octopus Energy celebrates the inaugural Trusted Partners Awards

• Eight winners crowned for customer love, teamwork and innovation at Octopus’ celebration for the low-carbon tech industry
• Green Squirrel Energy of Knutsford takes top gong for Trusted Partner of the Year award, showcasing exemplary leadership and commitment to sustainability

London, 4th April 2025 – Last night, Octopus Energy, the UK’s largest heat pump installer, hosted its first-ever Octopus Trusted Partners Awards at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, honouring the top installers driving the UK’s transition to clean, green energy.

The awards celebrate the exceptional companies installing heat pumps, solar panels and other clean technologies for Octopus Energy customers when Octopus is unable to. The evening brought together the best and brightest in the industry to recognise outstanding contributions to decarbonisation, innovation and customer service.

The Octopus Trusted Partners programme launched last year to accelerate the rollout of heat pumps and solar energy across the UK. With enquiries for heat pumps increasing 144% last year and costs for solar panels coming down to record lows, the programme connects customers with trusted local installers to ensure more homes can benefit from cutting-edge, money-saving technology.

Greg Jackson, Founder of Octopus Energy, said: “We have government targets of 600,000 heat pumps to install by 2028 and solar energy produced at home is becoming an increasing necessity for energy security. Add to that a deadline to hit net zero home emissions in the UK and the Octopus Trusted Partner programme has never been so vital.

The Octopus Trusted Partners Awards featured eight categories, highlighting excellence in key areas such as customer experience, innovation, leadership, and teamwork. The winners on the night were:

1. Best Customer Journey – Renew East Ltd.

Judges said: “Brilliant understanding of the customer, they listen, they learn, they evolve and showcase the benefits of that.”

2. Employee Wellbeing Award – Sustain Homes Ltd.

Judges said: “A brilliant company [...], they go above and beyond the average benefits and encourage individual growth, whilst instilling a commitment to sustainability within their team culture.

3. Grand Tentacle Prize for the Most Innovative Business – Synth Solar Ltd.

Judges said: “A highly innovative company who have developed practical technology that will genuinely enhance Customer Experience and put them on the map.”

4. Leader of the Year – Tom Myers, ECO Providers Ltd.

Judges said: “Impressed by how Tom has successfully navigated challenges with innovative solutions. His work has impacted the wider industry, which is great to see.”

5. Most Customer Focused Installer – Spirit Solar Ltd.

Judges said: “Spirit Solar obviously has some very happy customers. Their level of care and personal attention is admirable.”

6. Small Business of the Year – Rollings Renewables Ltd.

Judges said: “Lovely story of a family business' continued growth and success. Their creativity and resilience have transformed their small business into a community cornerstone.”

7. Team of the Year – Sustain Homes Ltd.

Judges said: “A real whole team ethos delivering great results. Through excellent teamwork, you turned challenges into measurable success.”

8. Trusted Partner of the Year - Green Squirrel Energy Ltd.

Judges said: “Green Squirrel have dived head first into what it means to be an Octopus Trusted Partner, handholding Octopus customers through their journey to get a heat pump and solar and battery installed in their homes.”
