Octopus Energy’s flagship event returns to London on 22nd June to kick off London Climate Action Week
4,000 policymakers, innovators, tech leaders and Octopus customers to explore how clean energy and tech can cut bills and boost energy security

London, 15th May 2026 – Octopus Energy today announced the return of its flagship Energy Tech Summit, bringing together 4,000 leaders, innovators and Octopus customers at Evolution London in Battersea Park on Monday 22nd June 2026 to kick off London Climate Action Week.
Now one of Europe’s largest energy and climate gatherings, this year’s summit will focus on the issues shaping the future of energy: affordability, artificial intelligence and global energy security.
As geopolitical instability and fossil fuel dependency continue to drive volatile energy prices and higher household bills, the summit will spotlight the technologies and ideas accelerating the transition to cheaper, cleaner and more secure energy systems.
The event will unite energy companies, policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs, academics and customers in one room to discuss how the clean energy transition can work better – and faster – for everyone.
This year’s star-studded speaker line-up includes:
Jimmy Wales, co-founder of Wikipedia
Tim Peake, the first British astronaut to travel to the International Space Station
Professor Hannah Fry, mathematician, author and broadcaster
William Kamkwamba, inventor and author of The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind
Gen. Sir Richard Shirreff KCB CBE, Former Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (NATO)
The summit will be hosted by broadcaster Steph McGovern, with additional speakers to be announced over the coming weeks.
Sessions throughout the day will explore how AI is transforming energy systems, how renewable power can reduce bills permanently, and how countries can build resilient energy systems that are less exposed to geopolitical shocks and fossil fuel markets.
Greg Jackson, Founder of Octopus Energy, said: “Every fossil fuel crisis ends the same way: with higher bills for customers. The answer is cheaper renewable energy, smarter tech and systems that make energy cleaner, more secure and more affordable.
“The clean energy transition isn’t about sacrifice – it’s about building a better system. One that’s cheaper, smarter and fairer. This summit brings together the people building it, and the customers who stand to benefit most from it.”
Octopus is giving 500 lucky customers the chance to win tickets through an exclusive Octoplus prize draw. More information on how to enter will be revealed soon.
The Energy Tech Summit will take place at Evolution London, Battersea Park, from 9am–4pm on Monday 22nd June 2026. For more information, visit Energy Tech Summit.
