Stuart has won himself a signed Arsenal shirt in our November prize draw. Here, he talks taking inspiration from David Seaman and being so impressed by Arsenal's endorsement that he became an Octopus Energy customer.

How long have you been an Arsenal fan?

Since I was 5-6 years old! I had just started playing football and my friend invited me around to watch a game – I was playing in goal at the time and apparently a guy called David Seaman had just signed for Arsenal and I should try to learn from him. 😊

What are your favourite Arsenal moments?

There are many! Michael Thomas scoring the winner in the last seconds against Liverpool, Tony Adams' volley to finish the game against Everton, seeing Arsenal be crowned champions at Highbury, and of course the Invincibles season was absolutely amazing 😊 One of my biggest, though, was watching the Arsenal v Villa game in 2001. It was my first live game and Arsenal were 2-0 down at half time but Sylvain Wiltord and the mighty Thierry Henry stepped up in the second half to win the game. All the goals went in in our end and the game seemed to show the tenacity of the team that was about to become the Invincibles.

How did you hear about the Octopus Energy Arsenal Partnership?

I saw your guys promoting Octopus outside the stadium and then researched you a bit more online.

What do you think about the Partnership?

It was good to see as you are a relatively new company in the industry. I was always dubious about the new names popping up and even though they are cheaper, they always seemed to be quite poor at looking after customers and promoting themselves. You promoted yourselves very well by what you did with the fans, and to get the backing of the club that I love.  I’d be stupid to ignore that kind of endorsement. 😊

What attracted you to sign up?

Ultimately price, you weren’t the cheapest though (there was the difference of pennies in it) but I felt more trust in your brand and the connection / incentives with Arsenal pushed me into signing up with you.

Were you originally looking to switch energy supplier?

Yes, I was coming to the end of my contract so was looking to change.

How often do you switch energy supplier?

As soon as I’m paying more than I should be or my fixed rate contract expires.

How did you find the switching process?

Easy as pie – you were very good and easy to deal with. Website was simple to use too.

Were you looking for a green plan? If so, why?

Nope, it was the first I’d heard of a green plan when looking through your site, so it was an extra benefit of joining.

How much did you save?

I don’t know yet – I look at the total cost over the year and as winter is coming, cost will go up! It’s looking good so far though 😊
