How to connect your Renault to the Octopus Energy app

Here’s what you need to do to connect your Renault to the Octopus Energy app.


Before starting make sure that:


  • you are at home with your EV plugged in

  • you have your Renault ID login details handy

Step 1: Open the Octopus Energy app.

Go to the 'Devices' tab and press 'Add device'. Make sure that you are at home before proceeding.

Step 2: Select your EV make and model

Search for your brand of EV and select your model from the list.

Step 4: Renault ID login

Press 'connect' and then login to your Renault ID account.

Step 5: VIN & activation

Select the VIN of the vehicle that you'd like to integrate and then tap 'Connect'.

At this stage we'll need to wait for Renault to 'activate' your smart charging.

This can take up to 5 days, but we will send you an email as soon as this is ready.

Step 6: Activation complete

When Renault have activated your device, we'll send you an email prompting you to resume onboarding in the Octopus Energy app.

Step 7: Enter your PIN

At this stage we need you to make sure your inside the vehicle with it turned on. Tap 'Request PIN' and a PIN will appear on your infotainment screen.

Step 8: Location

Ensure that your EV is plugged in at home & then tap 'Verify'. You may be prompted to enter your location on a map and then click 'Continue'.

Step 9: Success

Success - your Renault is now ready for smart charging.
