How to connect your VW Group car to the Octopus Energy app (Audi, Cupra, Seat, Skoda, VW)

Here’s what you need to do to connect your EV to the Octopus Energy app.


This guide applies to the following brands:

  • Audi

  • Cupra

  • Seat

  • Skoda

  • Volkswagen


Before starting make sure that:


  • you are at home with your EV plugged in

  • you have your VIN & mileage reading handy (details on how to find these are below)

Step 1: Open the Octopus Energy app.

Go to the 'Devices' tab and press 'Add device'. Make sure that you are at home before proceeding.

Step 2: Select your EV make and model

Search for your brand of EV and select your model from the list.

Step 4: T&Cs & VIN / mileage input

Review the T&Cs and press 'Agree and connect' to proceed.

Next you'll need to input your EVs VIN and mileage reading - if you're unsure how to find these you can follow our guide here.


Please note: you'll need to turn your off and lock your EV before pressing 'Continue'

Step 5: Success

Your device is now all connected - tap on 'Explore Dashboard' to set your charge preferences.
