Splash into savings: Octopus Energy launches Octoplus

• New reward scheme allows customers to cash in Octopoints for brilliant rewards
• Octopoints earned by shifting energy and keeping a healthy energy account
• Credit available now with merch, donations and partner rewards coming soon

London, 23rd October 2023 – Octopus Energy, the UK’s second largest energy supplier, today launches a new rewards program - Octoplus.

The dynamic rewards scheme is designed to empower savvy smart meter customers to take control of their energy usage in exchange for a whole host of benefits, prizes and more.

Octoplus users will be able to earn ‘Octopoints’* by getting stuck into demand flexibility schemes like Octopus’s ground-breaking ‘Saving Sessions’ and by maintaining a healthy energy account.

Customers can redeem their Octopoints for account credits, and will soon be able to make charity donations or exchange them for exclusive Octopus Energy merchandise, with more exciting rewards in entertainment and food following soon.

Octopoints can be earned through a number of different ways, for example through:

• Participating in Saving Sessions, where users are rewarded for curbing electricity consumption during times of peak energy demand
• Spinning Octopus’ Wheel of Fortune, which customers can do every time a meter reading is submitted
• Referring a friend to switch to Octopus Energy or participating in Octopus’ solar installation scheme

To be eligible for Octoplus, customers will have to receive electricity from Octopus Energy, have an operational electric smart meter (i.e receiving half hourly readings from it) and pay via Direct Debit. Business customers and smart prepayment customers will also be able to join Octoplus.
