How do I get Octopus Go?
Octopus Go is the first tariff of its kind. To switch you onto it, we'll need half-hourly readings from your SMETS2 or “Secure” branded SMETS1 smart meter.
Because Octopus Go is an electricity only tariff, when you switch to it your gas tariff will stay the same. You can change it at any time.
Already have a SMETS2 or “Secure” branded SMETS1 meter?
Simply start your switch onto an interim tariff below. Once you've switched to Octopus (which can take 17 days), and we've received half-hourly readings from your smart meter, which takes up to 14 days, we'll send you an email inviting you to complete your switch to Octopus Go.

Simply choose an interim tariff and start your switch today.
Once you've started your switch, we'll send you an email inviting you to join our installation waiting list. We'll then be in touch to arrange your appointment date.
Due to Covid-19 we are not currently sending engineers to customers' homes for routine smart meter installations, so it will take longer than usual for us to contact you with an appointment date. Rest assured we'll be in touch as soon as things return to normal.
Once you've had your smart meter installed and we're received half-hourly readings from your new meter, we'll send you an email inviting you to complete your switch to Octopus Go. This can take up to 14 days.
Most properties are suitable for a smart meter, as long as you have good mobile signal, and are not currently on a prepay meter. If you've already got a 3 phase electricity meter, you're in a rural location, or your electricity meter is in a communal cupboard, drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll look into it for you.
