Because Octopus Go is an electricity only tariff, when you switch to it your gas tariff will stay the same. You can change it at any time.
Once we've received half-hourly readings from your smart meter, which takes up to 14 days, we'll send you an email inviting you to accept the terms and conditions of Octopus Go to complete your switch (which include allowing us to take half hourly readings from your meter and that Octopus Go is a beta product which means that some things may not work first time). You must accept these T&Cs before your switch to Octopus Go can be completed.

Once you've started your switch, we'll send you an email inviting you to join our installation waiting list. We'll then be in touch to arrange your appointment date.
Once you've had your smart meter installed and we're received half-hourly readings from your new meter, we'll send you an email inviting you to complete your switch to Octopus Go. This can take up to 14 days.
Most properties are suitable for a smart meter, as long as you have good mobile signal, and are not currently on a prepay meter. If you've already got a 3 phase electricity meter, you're in a rural location, or your electricity meter is in a communal cupboard, drop an email to hello@octopus.energy and we'll look into it for you. If for any reason we can't fit a smart meter at your property, we will contact you to let you know. You will be able to switch away any time.
