Letter to Secretary of State for BEIS regarding Direct Debits, 27 November 2022
Octopus were contacted, along with all large energy suppliers, by the Secretary of State to ask us to to carefully consider how we set Direct Debits so that customers are not building up too much credit at times when they may be experiencing a higher cost of living.
Octopus is trusted more than any other energy company to get DDs right, but we are not complacent, and will continue to do all we can to ensure that DDs are set fairly, that consumers are in control, and that government support is not only fully reflected in payments (which it is) but is also very clear to consumers.
