Save on solar and heat pumps with cashback from your bank
Did you know you could get up to £2,000 cashback from your bank when you get a heat pump or solar and a battery?

If you’ve been thinking about getting solar panels or a heat pump to upgrade your home and cut your energy bills, but not sure if you can afford it, we’re here to help.
Here at Octopus we offer a range of monthly finance offers in order to help spread the cost of a heat pump, solar and battery, including 0% finance on solar.
And to help even further, many of the biggest banks and mortgage lenders are offering up to £2,000 cashback to eligible customers who install heat pumps, and £1,000 for solar and battery.
For example, if you’re an eligible Lloyds Bank or Halifax mortgage customer, you could claim up to up to £2,000 cashback and a free EPC for making an energy efficient home improvement, such as installing a heat pump. And, thanks to our partnership with Lloyds Banking Group, by choosing to get it installed with Octopus, you'll be eligible for £100 energy credit. (*Terms and Conditions apply. That means, with the addition of the government's boiler upgrade scheme taking an additional £7,500 off the cost, you could get a heat pump for less than a gas boiler!
Lloyds Eco Home Reward
Need to know
- Available for Lloyds mortgage customers applying for a new mortgage, additional borrowing or switching to a new deal after 31 July 2024.
- You need to complete the home improvement within one year of applying for a Lloyds Bank mortgage, additional borrowing or new deal.
- In addition to £2,000 cashback, if you’re a Lloyds Bank borrowing, mortgage, savings, investment or insurance customer and get a heat pump installed with Octopus, you’ll also be eligible for £100 energy credit.
Barclays Greener Home Reward
Need to know
- Available to Barclays residential mortgage customers only.
- One claim per mortgage.
- Must be your permanent residence.
- Must use a TrustMark approved installer.
- Cashback is paid 30 days after install into bank account mortgage payments are taken from.
- You’ll have three months from the date you made the final payment for your installation to submit your claim for the Greener Home Reward.
Halifax
Need to know
- Available for Halifax mortgage customers applying for a new mortgage, additional borrowing or switching to a new deal after 31 July 2024.
- You need to complete the home improvement within one year of applying for a Halifax Bank mortgage, additional borrowing or new deal.
- In addition to £2,000 cashback, if you’re a Halifax borrowing, mortgage, savings, investment or insurance customer and get a heat pump installed with Octopus, you’ll also be eligible for £100 energy credit.
Santander
Need to know
- Available for Santander mortgage customers applying for additional borrowing for energy efficient home improvements or customers applying for a home improvement loan if you’re an existing mortgage or personal current account customer.
- You need to have the work done at the property address of the mortgage or personal current account.
- Additional loan or personal loan applications must after 14 February 2025, and work must be complete by 30 September 2025 to qualify for the greener homes cashback.
Virgin
Need to know
- You need a residential or buy-to-let mortgage with Virgin Money and to apply for additional borrowing for home improvements
- You plan to spend at least £2,500 of this additional mortgage borrowing on qualifying green home improvements
- Need to register with Virgin Money by 30 June 2025
- Need to complete the home improvement and submit your claim by 31 December 2025
