The high-performance JA Solar 460W panel captures sunlight and turns it into electricity for your home. The glass panel is bifacial, meaning it can capture some light from the back of the panel as well as the front. And with its all-black finish and slim profile, it looks smart too.
460W power output – each panel can produce up to 460 watts of power in ideal conditions
Up to 22.8% efficiency – converts a high proportion of the sunlight hitting the panel into electricity
N-type TOPCon technology – advanced solar cell technology designed for high performance and lower degradation over time
Bifacial – can generate additional electricity from light reaching the rear of the panel
Double-glass construction – glass on both sides helps protect the solar cells and provides long-term durability
All-black design – a clean, modern look that blends neatly into your roof
1,762 × 1,134mm – around 1.8m × 1.1m
22kg – the weight of each panel
Product guarantee 25 years
The bit that turns your solar power into usable electricity
Solar panels generate electricity that needs to be converted before it can be used by the appliances in your home. The Fox ESS microinverter does this, converting the electricity from your panels into electricity your home can use.
It sits alongside your solar panels and manages them independently, helping each panel make the most of the sunlight available.
Independent panel control – each panel is managed separately, so one panel producing less doesn't automatically limit the others
High efficiency – up to 96% efficient at converting solar electricity into usable power
Remote monitoring – see how your solar system is performing through the Fox ESS app or web portal
Weather resistant – IP67 rated and designed for outdoor installation
Quiet operation – uses natural convection rather than fans for cooling
Max solar panels is 2 for plug-in solar usage at 800W home limit
Compact and lightweight – approximately 270 × 182 × 34.5mm and 3.4kg
Warranty – 25 years
You know your home best, we recommend setting up the solar panel(s) in a spot that has good exposure throughout the day. Best generation will be achieved with a south facing location and nothing obstructing the panels (including glass). It's your choice whether you want to mount this attached to a wall or secure this on the ground. Please note that ground mounted solar panels need to be weighed down with gravel or bricks.
Ground mount specifications:
The ground mount is designed to be placed on a garden, patio or terrace. It's not designed to be installed on any type of roof.
Measurements: L 105.4 x W 89.5 x H 50.7 cm
Weight: 7.5 kg
Single-panel bundle: 2 ground mounts, 15kg total
Two-panel bundle: 3 ground mounts, 22.5kg total
For a two-panel setup, the panels are designed to sit side by side, with the middle mount supporting both panels in the centre.
You'll also need to add ballast to the mounts to keep them securely in place. This could be bricks, paving slabs, sandbags or another suitable heavy material.
Wall mount specifications:
The wall mount is designed to be placed on a solid structured wall such as a brick wall. Plug-in Solar can't be installed on wooden fences, gates, walls, balconies, enclosures or other wooden structures.
The wall mount solution includes 6 small brackets per panel — 3 along the top and 3 along the bottom.
Single-panel bundle: 6 brackets and 12 holes drilled into the wall
Two-panel bundle: 12 brackets and 24 holes drilled into the wall
FYI: Being totally upfront — it's a little trickier to install than the ground mount. This is for people who are more confident with DIY.
Each Plug-In Solar kit comes with a 5m cable fitted with a standard UK 3-pin plug, designed to connect your system directly to a suitable outdoor socket. Plug your system directly into a suitable weatherproof outdoor socket — do not use an extension lead.
NOTE: If you choose a 2-panel system, you'll still only need 1 cable. Both panels connect to the microinverter, with a single cable running from the microinverter to your plug socket.
Product delivery is estimated at the end of September to Mid October in one single shipment.
The delivery will be a kerbside delivery, so we recommend you have two people at home to help you get the items to their final destination. Please make sure there's a clear, accessible path from the street to your front door or garden area.
For flats, we highly recommend that you measure any hallways to double check your panels will fit upstairs. We don't want any 'pivot' situations! Your order arrives on a pallet (approx. [1.8m x 1m x 1.2m] and weighs 90kg for the one-panel bundle and 112kg for the two-panel bundle).
After your delivery arrives
Once your Plug-in Solar bundle has been delivered and received, responsibility for the delivery passes to you. If you choose to store the delivery outside before installation, you'll be responsible for keeping the panels and equipment safe and protected from damage.
