‘WIN A YEAR’S FREE ELECTRICITY’ GIVEAWAY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

General

These Terms and Conditions apply to the ‘Win a Year’s Free Electricity’ giveaway (the “Giveaway”). By entering the Giveaway, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

The Giveaway is operated by Octopus Energy Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 09263424), with its registered office at United Kingdom House, 164-182 Oxford St, London W1D 1NN (“Octopus Energy”).

Octopus Energy Group Limited (company number 09718624) and other members of its group may also promote the Giveaway.

These Terms and Conditions are the official rules of the Giveaway (“Rules”). By entering, you agree to comply with these Rules and any other applicable instructions issued by Octopus Energy.

Octopus Energy reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Giveaway or these Rules at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be published on our website.

In the event of a dispute regarding any aspect of the Giveaway, Octopus Energy’s decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

These Rules are separate from the terms and conditions that apply to the supply of gas and electricity by Octopus Energy and do not affect your rights or obligations under those terms.

Giveaway Entry

1. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older and residents of Great Britain who are current customers of Octopus Energy.
   
2. The Giveaway will run from 00:01 on 11/06/2025 until 23:59 on 11/07/2025 (the “Promotional Period”).
   
3. To enter the Giveaway, you must:
   Place a deposit for an order on a heat pump or solar panels with Octopus Energy before 23:59 on 11/07/2025.
   
4. If the entrant meets the criteria outlined above during the Promotional Period, they will be automatically entered into the Giveaway. Entrants may opt out at any time and are not required to accept the prize. If the selected winner declines the prize, an alternative winner will be drawn at random.
   
5. By entering the Giveaway, you consent to the use of your personal data for the purposes of administering the Giveaway, in accordance with Octopus Energy’s role as your energy supplier.
   
6. If a customer places deposits on multiple eligible products (heat pump and/or solar panels) at different properties, each property may qualify separately, provided all eligibility conditions are met.
   
7. Entries associated with deposits that are later cancelled, refunded, or connected to withdrawn orders will not be eligible. Octopus Energy reserves the right to determine final eligibility at its sole discretion.
   
8. Any attempts to enter the Giveaway in a manner deemed contrary to the Rules may result in disqualification at Octopus Energy’s discretion.
   
9. By entering the Giveaway, you confirm that the information provided is accurate and complete. If any information is found to be fraudulent or misleading, Octopus Energy may disqualify the entry.
   
10. Octopus Energy is not responsible for entries not received due to technical issues or other circumstances beyond its control.
    
11. Octopus Energy will not reimburse any costs or expenses incurred in connection with entering the Giveaway.
    

The ‘WIN A YEAR’S FREE ELECTRICITY’ Giveaway

1. All qualifying entries submitted during the Promotional Period will be entered into a final prize draw.
   
2. The draw will take place within 30 days of the end of the Promotional Period (by 10/08/2025).
   
3. One winner will be selected at random using a fair and auditable process.
   
4. The prize consists of the equivalent of one year’s worth of electricity, calculated using Ofgem’s definition of medium domestic consumption and Octopus Energy’s Standard Variable Rates (Flexible Octopus) at the time of the draw. On the 11th July 2025 this will be £1,720.
   
5. The prize will be applied as a monetary credit to the winner’s Octopus Energy account or, if preferred, may be used as a discount against the cost of their installation.
   
6. The winner will be notified by email or telephone within 30 days of the draw.
   
7. By entering, you consent to being contacted using the contact details on your Octopus Energy account if you are selected as the winner.
   
8. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash.
   

Data Protection and Publicity

1. By entering the Giveaway, you consent to the reasonable use of your name for promotional purposes, including on the Octopus Energy website, in email communications, and in marketing materials.
   
2. Any personal data collected will be handled in accordance with UK data protection law and Octopus Energy’s privacy policy: https://octopus.energy/policies/privacy-policy/
   
3. Octopus Energy reserves the right to amend or withdraw the Giveaway in order to comply with legal or regulatory obligations or in response to unexpected circumstances.
   
4. Unless stated otherwise, entrants are responsible for any travel or arrangements required to accept or benefit from the prize.
   
5. These Terms and the Giveaway are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
