Tenant Power is a ground-breaking new tariff that could cut electricty bills for social housing tenants with solar and battery by up to £208* a year.
Tenant Power makes solar work for everyone. It's the UK's first tariff that shares the benefits of clean, green energy between tenants and landlords. Social housing tenants will save money on energy bills, while landlords generate a return for investing in renewables.

How it works
1. Sign up: You'll need to sign up as an existing or new customer
2. Installation: Together Housing Association will arrange to install your solar and battery system and a smart meter if you don’t have one
3. Completion: Once Octopus have connected to your solar, battery and smart meter we'll automatically switch you onto Tenant Power so you can benefit from 30% off your energy bills. It generally takes a couple of weeks to connect
4. Savings: You'll see the discount applied to your bill monthly. Simple!
FAQs
Who can switch?
In order to switch you'll need to have opted in to a solar and battery installation with Together Housing Association and agreed to their Solar Asset Agreement.
How much will I pay?
You can get a quote for Flexible Octopus using the link above. Once you're installation is complete and we've connected to the solar and battery, we'll switch you onto our 'Tenant Power' tariff. The Octopus Tenant Power tariff gives you a 30% discount off SVT (standard variable tariff). Based on current SVT rates (July 25) that's a saving of £260 a year.
Flexible Octopus rates are reviewed every 3 months by all energy suppliers in line with Ofgem’s price cap. This ensures that when the wholesale price of energy is cheaper, you benefit from cheaper bills too. You’ll be notified by Octopus if Flexible Octopus rates change but you will still receive the 30% discount off your new rates.
Octopus remains the only large energy supplier to have never charged the full Ofgem price cap, collectively saving customers over £100 million pounds.
What if I am in debt with my current supplier?
If you have debt on your energy account that’s more than 28 days old, you won’t be able to switch. Once this has been cleared, you can apply to switch using the link above.
*For example, a 30% discount off SVT (based on current price cap rates as of August 2025) would be a £208 saving a year
