What is the Cold Weather Payment, and how do I know if I’m eligible for it?

You could be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment from the Government if you’re getting certain government benefits or Support for Mortgage Interest.

If you’re eligible, you’ll be able to get £25 for every 7 day period of very cold weather between 1 November and 31 March. (It’s considered ‘very cold’ if the average temperature in your area is recorded as, or forecast to be, zero degrees celsius or below over 7 consecutive days.)
