Current Account is an affiliate scheme where your organisation gets a £50 boost every time you sign someone up to cheaper, greener energy with Octopus. It’s an easy way to earn a bit of extra cash while focusing on what really matters – running your business.

Signing up is simple. No long applications – just tell us a bit about your organisation online, grab your unique link, and start sharing the Octopus love with customers and employees.

Current Account, our affiliate scheme, is super straightforward and you can start receiving £50 referral rewards in just a few simple steps:

1. Tell us about your organisation and what you do
2. Get your unique referral link
3. Spread the word about Octopus to customers, employees, friends and family
4. Send them your referral link
5. Once they’ve signed up, we’ll send your organisation £50 and they’ll get £50 free energy credit too!

Each month, we’ll let you know how many people signed up using your referral link, and how much £££ we owe you.

You or a rep from the organisation can invoice us for the monthly amount, and we’ll make a payment into the nominated bank account.

The person who signed up using your link will get paid £50 once they’re set up with us and their first month’s direct debit has been successfully taken.

Once you’ve sent us the invoice for the month, we’ll make sure it’s paid within 30 days.

We love our customers using ingenuity to spread the word about Octopus, but there are a few restrictions as to how you can share your link:

1. You can’t spam third party sites with it, such as adding it to your TrustPilot review – it’s against their regulations, and we get contacted with a request to remove it every time it happens.
   
2. No paid ads. It's great that you love us so much that you're willing to pay to spread the word. But, if you pay for ads you're really not sharing with friends and family and our advertising costs also increase.
   
3. We also feel a bit awkward about you setting up accounts or profiles that use our name or branding and which might indicate you’re an official Octopus account, or affiliated with us – our customers need to know what is ‘us’ and don’t take information from the unofficial sources.

You might have heard of our Octopus referrals scheme, which is a little bit different and designed for individuals only, not organisations.

Each customer who joins Octopus gets a unique referral link to share with friends and family. If someone signs up using the link, both people get £50 which is added as energy credit to their account.

Current Account is similar, but for businesses, not individuals. Plus, the money goes straight to your business, not an energy account. It’s meant to be a simple way for organisations to raise money.

Nope! You’re free to go forth and disperse your referral link to as many people as you like. Use it to incentivise employees and see who can get the most sign ups, spread the word to customers after they’ve bought your product or let people know in your email newsletters. The more people you sign up, the more money your organisation will receive.
