How does Free Electricity work?

Like Saving Sessions, but flipped on its head. Instead of paying you to save power, we ask you to use more when the grid’s brimming with green energy, to stop it going to waste. Any electricity you use above your normal consumption is free!

These events usually happen in the warmer months, when it’s sunny, warm and windy. That’s when the grid is overflowing with green energy, wholesale prices tumble, making it the perfect moment to share that green energy with you, for free.

A perfect excuse to run the dishwasher, blitz through some laundry or charge your EV.

Meet the Tower Power

With this new Free Electricity events we've gone a step further, connecting all of you together with the good energy you share. That way, you hit milestones by using free energy collectively and you unlock amazing prizes in the brand new Tower Power!

So far this year, our customers have used a whopping £1.6million worth of free electricity, and have also unlocked 8,000 Gregg’s sausage rolls, 8,000 plushies and even donations to three brilliant charities. From keeping people experiencing homelessness and their pets together with Dogs on the Streets, to turning surplus food into community meals with FoodCycle, and giving young people the tools to look after their mental health with YoungMinds. Every milestone reached has lit up more than just our homes.
