Octopus Energy launches its first home EV charger

• Octopus Energy designed and built its very own EV charger – Octopus Charge
• Adds to the growing stable of Octopus-owned hardware – charger connects with Intelligent Octopus Go, providing charging for as little as 2p per mile
• First Octopus Charge customers to get 5,000 free miles bonus

London, 19th June 2025 - Octopus Energy has today launched its very own home EV charger – Octopus Charge – shaking up the electric car game with sleek design and super-smart charging.

The UK’s top heat pump manufacturer is adding this next-generation EV charger to its stable of home tech offerings, making driving electric simpler, smarter and greener than ever.

Plugged into the UK’s most popular EV tariff - Intelligent Octopus Go - Octopus Charge can power electric cars for as little as 2p per mile.

Combined with Octopus’ innovative Drive Pack tariff, customers can unlock unlimited charging for just £30 a month.

And for solar panel customers, Octopus Charge can power their EVs with any surplus solar electricity, turning free, home-grown electricity into miles on the road.

To kick things off with a bang, the first customers can get a whopping 5,000 miles of free driving* – enough to get from Land’s End to John o’ Groats and back again with miles to spare.

Octopus Charge links up seamlessly with the Octopus Energy app and its tech platform Kraken, charging automatically when electricity is at its cheapest and greenest. All customers have to do is set a charging time and amount, and the smart tech does the rest.

Octopus Charge isn’t just smart on the inside. With built-in 4G and a uniquely designed charging cable holster, it fits snugly in tight spaces – whether on the driveway, in the garage or on the street.

Octopus Charge will initially be exclusively available for customers of Octopus’ EV leasing business, Octopus Electric Vehicles, before being launched to all Octopus Energy customers in August.
