‘Octopus Kits for Kids’: UK’s top power firm gives free football kit to thousands of clubs including Marske United FC

Marske-by-the-Sea, 11th November 2025 - Octopus Energy has given a huge boost to Marske-by-the-Sea’s local football by sponsoring grassroots clubs like Marske United FC with brand-new, snazzy football kits – completely for free.

Members of the company’s popular rewards program Octoplus could nominate their local teams for free ‘Octokits’ in club colours and branding via a prize draw.

As part of its Octopus Kits for Kids giveaway, the energy company aimed to kit out 500 kids’ teams. But the response was so overwhelming that it accepted applications for more than five times the original number of orders in its first season.

More than 4,000 grassroots teams in the UK have hit the field in style with over 44,000 eye-catching sponsored kits. One of the sponsored teams is Marske United Yellows Under 9s, ready to dazzle their rivals with their new ‘Octokits’.

Marske United FC, based in the seaside village of Marske-by-the-Sea, plays a central role in bringing the local community together. The club proudly fields both junior and senior teams, with a strong focus on nurturing young talent who frequently advance to senior ranks.

Every member of Marske United FC embraces a family spirit, rallying together through wins and losses alike. Beyond the pitch, the club is committed to equipping its juniors with essential life skills that pave the way for their future success.

The Marske United Yellows Under-9s team has mostly stayed the same since the team was created when the players were 7 years old. Complementing their training, the team takes part in a weekly running club led by parent Emma, boosting their fitness and on-pitch performance.
