Octopus Energy becomes youngest-ever business to win Britain’s Most Admired Company

• UK’s largest supplier scoops prestigious title despite being just 10-years-old

London, 16 January, 2026 - Octopus Energy was today named Britain’s Most Admired Company 2025 – the youngest business ever to achieve the feat – in a prestigious awards ceremony at the London Stock Exchange.

The UK’s largest energy supplier took the top award in the leading corporate reputation rankings as well as an astonishing six gold sector and two silver sector awards.

Previous winners of the title have been in existence for decades – in some cases more than 100 years - making Octopus’ achievement all the more extraordinary.

Britain’s Most Admired Companies is in its 35th year, making it the UK’s longest-running annual survey of corporate reputation. It is run by market research agency Echo Research in partnership with the London Stock Exchange.

The reputations of more than 250 of Britain’s largest companies, spanning 28 industry sectors, are assessed against 13 reputational criteria.

More than 350 interviews with board-level executives, financial analysts and City commentators were held between July and October 2025 to decide the awards, meaning competitor businesses had their say.

Octopus won the gold sector title in Energy Distribution And Supply for the third year in a row. It also won golds in Clarity In Strategy, Effective Use Of Corporate Assets, Positive Contribution To Society and Reducing Environmental Impact. It shared gold in Quality Of Management and won silver in Ability To Attract, Develop & Retain Talent, and Capacity To Innovate.

Octopus was the only private company in the top 10 winners and took the title ahead of Airbus (second), M&S (third) and Rolls-Royce (fourth). The latter’s CEO Tufan Erginbilgiç was voted Britain’s Most Admired Leader.
