London, 25th July, 2024 - Octopus Electric Vehicles, the UK’s largest electric car-only lease provider, has launched a stunning deal for all drivers – and is celebrating with an interactive augmented reality competition to give away three BYD Dolphin electric vehicles (EVs).

Octopus Electric Vehicles has launched ‘Intelligent EV’ - giving drivers a new car and access to all the latest charging tech for low cost, hassle-free, smart driving - all for one monthly price.

Driving electric is getting better by the minute. With 30 new cars launched in the last year, prices are lower, and most EVs go further on a single charge than a typical driver travels in a week.

Smart drivers are also playing tunes on the energy system to charge up when it’s really cheap - enough to drive from London to Cornwall for less than £5.

The Intelligent EV offer includes one of nine of the best cars hand-selected by Octopus experts; an exclusive smart energy tariff with the lowest cost energy available; discounts on over 90% of UK public chargers via Octopus’s public charging app, and early access to new car launches.

To mark the launch of ‘Intelligent EV’, customers of Octopus Energy have an opportunity to win one of three BYD Dolphins. The Dolphin is one of the latest, most affordable electric cars on the market worth £30,000, while BYD itself has grown to become the world’s largest manufacturer of electric cars, overtaking Tesla last year.

Customers hoping to win one need to find and photograph digital Constantines – Octopus’ mascot – scattered around Britain in a fun, interactive augmented reality game. Digital Constantines can only be spotted using Octoplus SNAP! on the supplier’s rewards scheme app.

Each snap will count as an entry for the draw to win a Dolphin. Completing an entire set of each type of digital Constantine will count as 80 extra entries. There are six sets to complete… and some are rarer than others. Sharing pictures of their digital Constantines on social media can also result in extra prizes.

The offer comes in the same week that Octopus EV announced that all customers will have exclusive access to the most affordable electric car tariff on the market.

‘Intelligent Octopus Go – EV Saver’ offers six hours of off-peak charging each day at just 6p per kWh. It can save a typical UK driver over £1,000 every year versus fueling a petrol car. Customers of the tariff will also get an 8% discount on Octopus Electroverse charging.
