How to qualify:

  • Buy a heat pump and pay a £200 deposit during the offer period
  • Complete a home survey during the offer period (or have one scheduled if we can’t offer a date)
  • Quote code INDY5 to your heat pump sales specialist before signing your installation agreement
  • Sign your final installation agreement within 14 days of it being issued

Good to know: The discount will be applied to your installation agreement, not your initial online estimate.

The Independent reader offer: 5% off heat pump installations

General
These Terms and Conditions apply to the The Independent reader offer – 5% off a heat pump installation (the “Offer”).

This Offer is made by Octopus Energy Services Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 09263424), with its registered office at United Kingdom House, 164–182 Oxford Street, London W1D 1NN (“Octopus Energy”, “we”, “us”).

By participating in this Offer, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

The Offer
Eligible customers will receive 5% off the final price of a heat pump installation bought during the Offer Period.

Offer Period
The Offer is available from 12 January 2026 to 28 February 2026 (inclusive).

Eligibility
To be eligible for the Offer:

  • You must buy a heat pump during the Offer Period, which requires payment of a £200 deposit and completion of a home survey within the Offer Period.
    • If Octopus Energy is unable to offer you a home survey within the Offer Period, we will honour the discount as long as a home survey date is scheduled.
    • If you choose not to have a home survey during the Offer Period, the discount will no longer be available.
  • You must sign your final installation agreement within 14 days of it being issued to you by us following your home survey. If the agreement is not signed within this 14-day window, the Offer will lapse and the discount will be removed.
  • You must quote the code INDY5 to your heat pump sales specialist before signing your final installation agreement. The discount cannot be applied afterwards.
  • The installation must be carried out by Octopus Energy.
  • The Offer is available to residential customers in Great Britain only.

Discount details

  • The 5% discount will be applied to the final cost of your heat pump system, after the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) grant has been applied (where applicable).
  • The discount will be reflected in your installation agreement, not your initial online estimate or quote.
  • The Offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or discount.
  • The Offer has no cash alternative, is non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged or refunded.

Additional terms

  • If you cancel, withdraw from, or receive a refund for your installation order, the Offer will no longer apply.
  • The Offer is not available where an existing installation agreement is cancelled and a new order is placed for the same or a substantially similar system in order to obtain the discount.
  • All installations are subject to eligibility, availability, and technical feasibility.
  • Octopus Energy’s standard heat pump installation terms and conditions apply.

Changes and withdrawal
Octopus Energy reserves the right to amend, suspend or withdraw this Offer at any time, including where required to comply with legal, regulatory, or technical requirements.

Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
