My business has a smart meter. Is it compatible with your system?

We can connect to any Secure™ SMETS1 or second generation (SMETS2) smart meter.

If you've got a Secure™ SMETS1 meter

We can connect with this, no problem. It can send us meter readings automatically, so you don't have to.

If you've got a different type of SMETS1 meter

We're upgrading these meters by enrolling them in the Data Communications Company (DCC) network. Once that's done, they'll act as smart meters again. But, in the meantime, we can't connect to it - so you'll need to submit manual meter readings each month.

If we can't enrol your SMETS1 meter to the DCC network, we'll replace it at no extra cost. If this applies to you, we'll be in touch soon to arrange a replacement.

If you've got a SMETS2 meter

We can connect with this, no problem. These are the new generation of smart meters. They submit automatic readings, stay smart if you switch supplier, and are compatible with new smart tariffs and tech.
