Is Economy 7 right for me?
If you have a 2 rate Economy 7 electricity meter, you'll pay 2 rates for your electricity usage:
a higher rate during peak hours (usually daytime)
a cheaper rate during off-peak hours (usually overnight)
Economy 7 is available for both traditional and smart meters. If you're not sure whether you're being charged 2 rates for your usage, check on page 2 of your statement, under ‘About your tariff’.
If you have an Economy 7 meter and you’re on an Economy 7 tariff, but you don’t use a lot of electricity during your off-peak hours, you might benefit from switching to a standard 1-rate tariff. If you’d like to switch, get in touch and we can help.
