Confused by your bill? We’ve worked hard to make ours as clear and simple as possible. But if anything doesn’t look right or you're unsure about something, we're here to help.
Here’s a quick breakdown of key terms in your bill:
Billing period – the time between your previous bill and your new one.
Your balance at the start of this billing period –what your balance was before any new charges were added.
Your charges – the cost of energy you've used during this billing period.
You have paid – any payments you’ve made during this billing period, including Direct Debits and one-off payments.
On [date] your new balance is - your updated balance after charges and payments. A positive balance (£500) means you’re in credit. A negative balance (i.e -£500) means you’re in debit.
We’ve also included a downloadable sample bill with handy annotations in our guide: Understanding your energy statement. If you have any questions we haven't covered – drop us a line at hello@octopusenergy.group.
